Jefferson Security Bank Celebrates 150 Years with a Free Community Festival
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. (April 26, 2019) – Jefferson Security Bank (JSB) will host a free Community Festival in celebration of the bank’s 150th anniversary on Sunday, May 19, 2019. The festival will be held from 2pm to 5pm at the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department.
The day’s event will include live music by the band Cazhmiere, a variety of food trucks, beer garden, ice cream from Nutters, Mountaineer Popcorn, and family-friendly activities such as bouncy houses, face painting and games.
“This festival is our way of giving back and saying thank you to this wonderful community that has supported us for the past 150 years. We are excited to have this opportunity to celebrate with everyone, it’s going to be a very fun day,” said Sara Wasson, Director of Marketing and Community Relations.
Chartered on May 19, 1869 by seven prominent men in Shepherdstown, JSB opened its doors with only $1,750 and has grown to over $300 million in total assets and six locations. Jefferson Security Bank has grown, adapted and expanded over the past 150 years, but one thing has remained steadfastly the same: its dedication to the community.
