WVU Medicine welcomes new thoracic surgeon

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute in Martinsburg is pleased to announce the continued expansion of services in the eastern region with the recent addition of Shalini R. Reddy, M.D., thoracic surgeon.

Dr. Reddy received her medical degree from Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College in Karnataka, India. She completed a general surgery internship at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY followed by a general surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, NY.

Reddy completed two fellowships, one in cardiothoracic surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and the other in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at Roswell Park Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She has practiced thoracic surgery in the region for over 8 years.

In addition to joining the medical staff at WVU Medicine Berkeley Medical Center, Reddy will also serve as an assistant professor in the division of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the WVU School of Medicine. Her special interests include robotic surgery, lung and esophageal cancers, and benign esophageal diseases.
